OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha Supernovas have officially unveiled their full 26-match regular season schedule for the 2027 Major League Volleyball season.  Coming off their second MLV Championship appearance in three seasons, the Supernovas enter 2027 having led the world in average attendance for professional volleyball for three consecutive years.

Omaha will begin its season on the road for the first time in franchise history, facing the Vegas Thrill on Thursday, Jan. 7. This will mark Vegas' first MLV match since 2025. The Supernovas then return to Kiewit Court at the CHI Health Center to open their 13-match home schedule with a prime-time showdown against the Grand Rapids Rise on Saturday, Jan. 9, in a rematch of the 2024 league championship match.

Omaha’s 2027 home schedule features more weekend matches than any previous season, giving fans more opportunities to enjoy Supernovas volleyball in the team’s fourth year. Twelve of Omaha’s 13 home matches will take place Friday through Sunday, with the remaining contest scheduled for a Thursday.

Opening weekend will feature the debuts of several new Supernovas players, including opposite Kimberly Drewniok and setter Kami Miner. Veteran head coach Chris McGown will also make his MLV debut at the helm of the Supernovas, with both opening-weekend opponents entering the season under new leadership. Rachel Morris takes over the Thrill after serving as an assistant coach at Indiana while Mike Gawlik succeeds Cathy George in Grand Rapids as George transitions to her role as the Rise’s team president.

The Supernovas’ 2027 regular-season schedule features 26 matches, including 13 on Kiewit Court at the CHI Health Center. With MLV expanding to 12 teams, the league will be divided into Eastern and Western conferences. Omaha will compete in the Western Conference. Each team will face all 11 league opponents once at home and once on the road, accounting for 22 matches. The remaining four matches will be played against conference opponents, with each team’s additional matchups excluding one of its five conference foes on an annually rotating basis.

Match times and the 2027 promotional schedule will be announced at a later date.

The Supernovas, who own a 26-16 overall record at the CHI Health Center, will have plenty of early opportunities to build on that mark with four home matches in January, beginning with the Jan. 9 home opener against Grand Rapids. The month also features a celebration of a milestone in franchise and professional volleyball history. Omaha will host the Atlanta Vibe on Sunday, Jan. 24, marking the third anniversary of the league’s inaugural match between the two teams.

After closing January on the road in Columbus, the Supernovas return home for a three-match homestand to begin February. Omaha hosts the Thrill on Friday, Feb. 5, before welcoming the expansion Los Angeles Thunder for the teams’ first meeting on Sunday, Feb. 7. The homestand concludes Friday, Feb. 12, with Omaha’s first matchup against the Minnesota Forge, another of MLV’s newest franchises.

February culminates with a landmark event for the Supernovas and MLV as Omaha faces the Thunder in the inaugural MLV John Cook Invitational presented by JUNKLESS, at John Cook Arena in Lincoln, Neb. on Sunday, Feb. 28. The special matchup will honor Cook’s lasting impact on volleyball, celebrate Nebraska’s passionate volleyball community and showcase the continued growth of women’s professional volleyball in the United States.

Omaha opens March with its only two home matches of the month, beginning with a marquee rematch of last season’s MLV Semifinals against the Indy Ignite on Thursday, March 4. The Supernovas return to Kiewit Court on Sunday, March 7, to host the Orlando Valkyries, led by new head coach Francois Salvagni and featuring former Supernovas middle blocker Janie Leao.

As in previous seasons, the Supernovas will finish the regular season with a home-heavy April schedule. Omaha hosts the Dallas Pulse on Sunday, April 4, in a rematch of last season’s MLV Championship before welcoming the NorCal Rumble to the CHI Health Center for the first time on Saturday, April 10. That matchup is also expected to bring Allie Sczech and former Nebraska standout Taylor Landfair back to the Cornhusker state. The Supernovas conclude the regular season with consecutive Saturday home matches against the Thrill on April 17 and the Forge on April 24.

Details about the 2027 MLV postseason will be announced at a later date.

Fans don’t have to wait until January to connect with the Supernovas. The franchise will host two high-level volleyball clinics at the Kearney SportsPlex on Sunday, Nov. 22, bringing professional instruction to young athletes throughout south-central Nebraska.
